Explore the health benefits of Tea! Supported by current scientific research, classes feature an additional focus on traditional culture.

Each lecture will present several Teas for tasting, along with their history (production and preparation), cultural rituals and associated health benefits.

Teas of the Camellia Sinensis will have a primary focus, but other ‘teas' such as Rooibos, various forms of Ginseng and other herbal beverages will also be presented.

Participants will taste the highest grades of all teas presented and learn preparation techniques in each 1.5-hour session.

COURSE LOCATION:
Tea & Ginseng, 504 BANK St. Ottawa (at Catherine/QWY)

COURSE FORMAT: Each class includes informational Lectures and presentations with Q & A session during Tea Tastings. During each class, students can taste 3 - 5 excellent, high-grade teas.

TEAS FOR TASTING: A Tea Trio (25 g x 3) will be available of some of the teas sampled at a discounted rate for students during each class (prices for each Tea Trio will vary according to tea type and rarity)

COST: $120 for all 7 classes (10.5 hours).

$20 for drop in session also available! Students can come to different time slots if rsvp 1 week in advance.

CAMELLIA TEAS OF OTTAWA: REBECCA CRAGG B.A.H.,M.A.,B.Ed.

CHANOYU (Japanese Tea Ceremony- Omotesenke & Omotesenke-Sei-ha)

Rebecca Cragg, founder and President of Camellia Teas of Ottawa, attained a high level of mastery in Tea Ceremony during the 7 years she taught in Japan. Through Camellia Teas of Ottawa, over 12,000 bowls of matcha have been served to guests throughout the National Capital Area - and most recently as far away as Brazil, Mexico, the United States and Japan.

She holds a B.A.H. in Anthropology-Cultural Studies and a M.A. in Museology-Art History from Trent University. She also has a degree in Education from McGill University.
