Tea Gathering Rate 2012

$25 per person, per Gathering

UPDATED February 6, 2012

In the small and tranquil space of the Tearoom, in the company of others who share an interest in learning about the tradition and history of Chanoyu, Camellia Teas guests enjoy the quiet and peace of the Camellia Tearooms each week.

Each Gathering is uniquely enriching, customized tothe interests and experiences of each guest. The introductory topic and utensils change each time, as does the host's combination art objects. The art of creating a unique and special Gathering is one of the great pleasures of Chanoyu.

At each Tea Gathering, guests learn about the steps necessary to fully participate (or for those more experienced, a deeper review and introduction to more elements).

We discuss the history and purpose of Chanoyu as well as etiquette and philosophy related to the Way of Tea.

By reservation only, up to five guests enjoy this unique, relaxing experience of Chanoyu here at Camellia House (Mooney's Bay area).

With your confirmed reservation, detailed directions are sent to you.

ABOUT THE OUTDOOR TEAHOUSE

The Summer Tea House is open from June 2011 onwards, until we reach -20C!

Please note that as TSUBAKI-AN (Camellia-Teahouse, the Camellia plant is the name of the tree/shrub from which matcha and all green teas are grown) is outdoors, not air-conditioned or heated.

If you have difficulty with humidity, heat or little bugs, or dislike chilly weather, I invite you to take your Tea Gathering indoors in one of our spaces inside Camellia House.
